"Black Post Slavery Racism Incited the Ku Klux Klan": Pastor Manning Should Have Been a Character in Django Unchained

I came upon this over the holidays and was saving it for the appropriate moment.

Given that folks have Django Unchained on their mind, Sam Jackson's manservant adviser chief valet character was played as one of the most despicable negroes in the history of cinema. "Stephen" is the Uncle of all Uncle Toms and the Grand Emperor of Steppin Fetchits. He is the metaphorical Nile River from which garbage pail kid black conservatives such as Clarence Thomas, Shelby Steele, and Herman Cain flow as double-corked black face new age political race minstrel tributaries.

Like them, Pastor Manning is also a direct descendant of Stephen in Django Unchained.

In a perfect world, he could have played a role in the film as a black preacher who taught the slaves to be obedient, giving the benediction at Big Daddy's skin parlor, blessing the "Mandingo" fighters, and seconding Calvin Candie's race science theories of black inferiority. If Pastor Manning was to have played such a part in Django, it would have been the most basic and easiest type of acting--he would essentially be portraying himself. Nevertheless, Manning would still be a perfect casting choice by Quentin Tarantino.

Given the latter's love of cameos, what other notorious negroes from the (near) present would have fit in the universe created by Django Unchained?

A bonus. Pastor Manning explaining how Jamie Foxx is an agent of the anti-Christ President Barack Obama:

His hatred of blacks reminds me of someone. Can't remember exactly who. But he is right about several things. Obama's a fraud with no content of character and the only reason blacks support him is the color of his skin. If a white pres did the things Barama has done these past four years, these same black supporters would be raising holy hell.

Sort of a threadjack, so CdV, please delete this if this isn't appropriate, but: here's a link to a photo documentary by Jacob Holdt (of American Pictures fame) about racism and the KKK today. I'd like to know how people react to this guy's ideas and experiences.

Scroll down to "50 pictures from 'the stronghold of hate'".

If I had to form a coherent, complete thought about this at the moment, I couldn't. But whatever I'd begin with would start like this:

I think Holdt's investigations articulate something hinted at in Manning's videos: the danger that exists when our self-hatred takes over. The most logical thing to do, when a person is full of hate for themselves and certain they are worthless and unlovable, is to commit suicide. But we have a survival instinct and cannot easily overcome it. So we turn against people who we believe cannot fight back.

I just don't seem to be able to figure out where to go with the rest of this.

@nomad. i knew you couldn't resist the bait. my butt itches, is that obama's fault too? ;)

@adam. thanks for sharing. i hope things are going well with you. don't try to figure out the good pastor con artist hustler who is on the take from the koch brothers or related ilk. you will go crazy, quite literally, if you try to make sense of his madness.

@CD
I struggled mightily, but you're right, I couldn't resist. I'm thinking bout goin into rehab.

One thing I don't understand about Pastor Manning and others of his ilk. How did they escape it? Me, you, other blacks, we intrinsically racist. Along with our other inborn traits. But now, how do these inborn ethnic traits bypass certain individuals? How is it that all the blacks is infected with inferiority, racism, rhythm and other loathsome traits, yet a handful of individuals seem not affected at all. Like Manning, the pizzaman, and other T partiers. How can more of us pathetic black racists become more like them?

Basically the Pastor is right. But what he defines as black racism is really a reaction to white supremacy; not the other way around as he would have it. In either case the fact remains that blacks identify with black leaders, in general, because they/we imagine that they have the interests of blacks at heart. And though, black politicians have proven again and again that this is not true, most of the black populace has not caught on. And the Powers That Should Not Be are using this propensity of the black people to support politicians based on the color of their skin against them. The PTSNB have discovered that they can manipulate black people into working against their own interests by offering them a charismatic black actor for president who uses the rhetoric of Martin Luther King to advance the political agenda of George Bush. And ingenious strategy of mass manipulation, exploiting the weakness that Manning refers to as black racism.

Leaving aside the highly contentious infotainer Manning for the moment Adam, you are on exactly the right track.

My friend Uncle John is on about a closely related theme.

It's not so much about turning against anybody you believe can't/won't fight back, and it's certainly not about fighting with anybody because not nary a one of these limp-wristed and race obsessed sissies would ever dare even dream about throwing down with a psychotic skinhead rather - it's about the pathetic generation of a little false passion, a little false enthusiasm for some or another political mask with which to identify.

How do we know that it's false?

Because of its relentless and inescapable negativity. Every single one of the "isms" is a case study in negative emotion, false personality, and missing the mark.

That these sheep volunteer to get fleeced, and that some shepherd huckster is always standing by with shears, is equally inevitable and most richly deserved.
