Having done further research, I think what bothers me most is the pride in which he wears the badge of "not being liked by black people". Brother had to get the boot -- no room for self-loathing.
Is this a group you are in by default until you are kicked out, or do you have to earn your way in first, then be kicked out?

Thanks for all of your support! The enthusiasm regarding expelling this Tom was overwhelming--there is hope for us yet.
