I could just imagine Paul Mooney in a measured voice talking to experts on White people about their history, their culture, and their struggles. He would have this dry whit about him that would appear to convey empathy where none exists. Ooh what a dream...

Actually... the ideal host would be a person whom the audience isn't exactly sure is 'White' like... Soledad O'Brien.
CNN should have just sat down with Mooney for two hours, asked whatever questions they had, filmed it and then they'd really have themselves a "Black in America" series. Love, love, love Paul Mooney.
Good point mib, but Soledad hosted the 1st Cnn series. Who else is non threatening and racially ambiguous? Maybe a quasiblack white ethnic like Emiril Lagasse? No, I am being serious--he loves black people, sort of looks swarthy, and i would bet money being from the new bedford area of Massachusetts there are some black folk in his family.
With Bernie Mac recent and tragic passing away, Paul Mooney is one of the last great Black comedians that don't resort to what is race neutral comedy. One of the best, up there with Richard Pryor and George Carlin.
